Elvis Only Performed This Gospel Song Once In Concert And People Say It May Be His Best Ever

Elvis had a varied and incredibly successful career that focuses primarily on the rock music that made him famous, but other musical styles influenced his own sound. Gospel music held a special place in his heart and a few gospel songs appeared throughout his long career.

On February 16, 1977, Elvis performed gospel song, “Where No One Stands Alone, ” and the audience was shocked and delighted. Fortunately, the moment was captured on television and we can still watch the live performance. That particular day, even his band was surprised when he asked them to start playing the song. They had only ever played the song in the studio, years earlier, and this was the first and the only time that they would perform it live.

While he wasn’t known for gospel music, Elvis believed that God played a part in his talent, his success, and all of the positive things in his life.

“I believe in the Bible. I believe that all good things come from God. I don’t believe I’d sing the way I do if God hadn’t wanted me to,” Elvis said.
